|“The Looney Lutherans”
are a trio of wacky gals on tour promoting
their new cookbook, “USE YOUR FOOD,
a guide to healthy living inside and out, from
our kitchen to yours, EAT LIKE A
LUTHERAN!” Using music, comedy, and
some help from the audience, these talented
ladies share some of their age old wisdom for
living a long and healthy life…the Lutheran
way! (But you
don’t have to be Lutheran to love ‘em!!)
The fun, interactive, family-friendly show
includes a variety of segments on healthy
living the Lutheran way, including discussion
of the Lutheran “food wheel” (all roads lead
to hotdish) a performance of the Lutheran
food rap (Eat Like a Lutheran), and helpful
beauty tips (using items from your very own
kitchen you can create a more beautiful you.)
Audience members will be invited to play
everybody’s favorite game show,
POTLUCK, and five lucky contestants will
go home with a can of corn. They say
laughter is the key to a long, healthy life. With
their crazy antics, The Looney Lutherans are
sure to help you extend yours.

Iowans across the state have shown their support for the
Healthiest State Initiative by the thousands. By the hundreds
of thousands, actually – each year for the past three years,
nearly 300,000 Iowans have participated in 1-kilometer walks
to show that we’re ready for a healthier Iowa.
As we approach our fourth year, we need your help to keep
the momentum going and make this year’s walk the biggest
one yet. Be part of the movement by walking one kilometer (.
62 miles or roughly 12 minutes) on October 8. We will be
starting at the Hull Community Building at NOON.
Come yourself or with friends, family, colleagues or
neighbors! Click HERE to sign up to make sure you're
included in our overall participation count.
